Final sails during the 2012 Season

Spinaker in October!

We sailed a couple times in October, trying out a spinnaker that I got for free.   It's a bit small for our boat but worked well.

Sailing the Magic Dragon in November!
In November, we woke up one Saturday morning, it was still 'warm' in the high 40's / low 50's.  We drug Galactica down to the Lake of the Ozarks which is less than an hour away.

Angie enjoying the view as we sailed up the main channel...
Wing on Wing running with the wind towards and past  Lighthouse island
Angie thought it was chilly midday....

tacking close to condos, closed up for the season

Great Sailing, often well over 6 knots!
There were nearly two dozen other sailboats out that day with similar notions.  Great wind, a little brisk--but none of the high powered semi sober baja and speed boats that normally crowd this lake.

A number of sailboats in the distance near Bagnell Dam...

Sailing was fantastic.   We sailed up to my cousin Bob's place {May he rest in peace}.  Bob had that place since the 1950's.  He sold it to a friend of the family has his health declined.

Angie and Keith (new owner of Trail's End) on Bob's old dock.

Great sailing that day.   Angie said that it was cold though.  It was a bit chilly.

The temperature took dropped quite a bit as we sailed back to the Graovis arm...

Okay, Angie said that it was ()@#$%&#@%#$  cold.

The water temperature was far warmer than the air...
It was a GREAT way to end the 2012 season with a very late sail in November!

The lake effect as the sun was nearing sunset was gorgeous.  Cold but pretty.  Angie took this picture from the truck on the ramp.  A perfect end to another fun, adventurous season!

Angie snapped this picture as I brought Galactica to her trailer on the ramp.

I liked this photo so much that I painted it and that painting now hangs in our familyroom.

I liked Angie's picture so much that it motivated me to dig out the paint brushes, results:  "Season's End"
